Ouch, my index finger!

My rheumatologist told me that I've got osteoarthirits in my left index finger last week. Here's the picture. It even makes noise when I bend it, like creaking noises. I guess that my fingers are trying to tell me that I'm getting older! Ha!

Tuesday Night

Just a quick one! Tuesday night is my favorite night for tv, followed by Wednesday, and Thursday's tv line-up! I absolutely love The New Normal! NeNe's character is so cool, and Shania's hilarious!
I've been tied up with laundry and cleaning and other household chores today, and the more I've done, the more swollen my left index finger's become. My rheumatologist told me on Friday that it was osteoarthritis. I can't hardly bend it right now. Lovely! Pic forthcoming tomorrow!

Olay CC Cream Review and Giveaway (US- ends 3/3/13)

Aging... not something I want to show, especially on my face! I've admitted before on my blog and on my sidebar to the blog that I'm 50 and  I'm okay with it. I don't want my face to show it just yet, especially fine lines and wrinkles that have been showing up here and there! I do use moisturizer on my face at least once a day, sometimes twice a day. I  have needed something to help with the uneven tone and the age spots that have shown up in the past few years, and I wasn't quite sure what to use to help out with them. I believe that one should fight the signs of aging at any age!

I found out about Beauty's Next Big Trend recently!! Olay CC Cream provide instant Coverage plus Correction to fight 7 signs of aging, including uneven tone, age spots, and wrinkles! (Barb's note: my worries are over!! Yay!)      CC Cream Is Here!!     AA (anti-aging) +BB (beauty balm) = CC (color and correction)   This all-in-one triple stream formula combines a daily anti-aging moisturizer, SPF15 sunscreen and sheer tint for younger-looking skin.

Total Effects fights the 7 signs of aging:
* Fine lines and wrinkles: reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
* Uneven Tone: balances and helps even out tone
*Age Spots: reduces appearance of discoloration
*Gentle Exfoliation: Improves surface cell turnover
* Dryness: provides nourishing moisturization
* Moisture Barrier: strengthens skin's natural defense against moisture loss
* Luminosity: recaptures youthful luminosity

I've been using the product now for about a week, on days off out in the sun and on work nights (not in the sun, obviously at night!).  Basically everyday, and through crazy and busy nights at work! I'm using the "Fair to Light" and it blends in quite well on my face. It doesn't feel caked on or heavy, just very comfortable on my skin!  I haven't felt any dryness while using the product and that is definitely a plus for me! I've noticed that it has helped with the fine lines and few wrinkles that I have. My skin tone appears to be more balanced and the age spots appear to be less noticeable. I've taken a few pictures of before and after and in different lighting ---the pictures in the house were with CFL's, and the one in the car was obviously taken in daylight outside! I do like this product very much and it's in my daily skincare routine now, before leaving the house (or not!) each day!

Before, with my hair pulled back and no glasses.
After applying the product on my face, side view!
after work today, with the CC cream still on my face!
Friday, before I headed out on an errand with the CC Cream on my face!

I have a few links to share with you, for you to find out more information on Olay CC Cream or to connect with Olay via social media (don't we all love social media!!)!

The bathroom is not my favorite place to clean, not even during weekly or even that dreaded once-a- year thorough Spring Cleaning! Rejuvenescence can help make the job a bit easier, by easing the pain of the dreaded bathroom clean-up!

I was excited to try these, due to being the main cleaner-upper of both bathrooms in our house! (Not my favorite chore out of all the ones that I do in the house!) The Rejuvenescence toilet tissue holders allow fragrance to diffuse in your bathroom every time the toilet tissue roller is set in motion. Their special holders contain long-lasting scented oils that can last up to 60 days, giving a lovely scent to your bathroom.  I like the fact that they are made in the USA and are made from recycled material. The scented oils are made from 100% natural essential oils and include no additives in them.

The fins can be cut to fit the toilet tissue rolls!

Rejuvenescence comes in 3 scents: Wild Orchid, Moonflower, and Spice.  Wild Orchid is described as having a "delicate infusion of orchids, red currant, birds of paradise, peach, and persimmon". Moonflower is described as having " a floral mix of moonflower, yellow rose, grapefruit, raspberry, pomegranate, mandarin, and frangipani". And last but not least, Spice is described as having "a refreshing blend of clove, cinnamon, frankincense, china muck, mulberry, Blue Nile, and peach". I currently have Wild Orchid in the master bathroom, and Moonflower in our hall bathroom. I gave my dad the Spice one to test in his bathroom. It was hard to decide which one I liked the best, but I ended up choosing Wild Orchid as my favorite!  (I couldn't get Steve, Steven, or Dad to give me their opinion, though!)
They can be purchased for $12.99 each at Rejuvenescence.

Publix Italian Days (My BlogSpark) Review and $25 Publix Gift Card Giveaway (US Only)

If your family's like mine, we love Italian food! Italian Days-Taste the Tradition event is currently going on at Publix, it started on February 11th and goes on through March 1st! And, right now you can get some great coupon savings and delicious recipes! How awesome is that? I'm going to share a bit about what I sent hubby to the store to get for us last weekend.

We love spaghetti and meatballs, so Publix's meatballs went on the list. I noticed in Publix's ad that they had Progresso soups on sale, and I've always wanted to try the Italian Wedding Soup---the soup went on the list, too! Fiber One bars--- they are a tasty snack that I take into work and Steve does, too, sometimes, and they are a General Mills product that we like. Have you ever tried a caprese-type of salad? Steve bought some tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese. He ended up putting olive oil and some grey salt (I'd like to say balsamic vinegar, but I can't remember!) on the tomatoes, basil and cheese, and it was so delicious!

You can save on some of your favorite General Mills  brands of foods like Green Giant and Progesso   at General Mills/Publix Coupon & Sweepstakes Site, where you can also enter for a chance to be 1 of the 500 shoppers that will win a $100 Publix gift card! You can  also download great coupon savings and delicious recipes at  General Mills/Publix  , or look in-store.

Influenster Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish liquid VoxBox(Review)

It's taken me a little bit to get through one bottle of the new Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish washing liquid, and I want to use one bottle before I gave a fair review of the Ginger White Tea one! It takes alot to get me excited about DISH WASHING LIQUID, and boy, did I get excited about this particular  one!  I will admit that Palmolive's been a brand that we've used off and on in between store brand dish washing liquid, such as WalMart's brand or Publix's brand. Not only did the Ginger White Tea have an awesomely naturally inspired scent, but it also cleaned some of my greasiest dishes or pans that I couldn't put or fit into the automatic dishwasher.  I'm using the Lemon Thyme one this week, and it's not the typical Lemon dish washing liquid! WOW! Each one of three naturally inspired fragrances  smelled great, but I had to chose one to share with a girlfriend. I opted to share it with my father, to get a man's opinion on it. I gave Dad the Lime Basil to try, and so far he's liked the smell of it. I haven't had a chance to get over to see him to see what he thinks about it's cleaning power, so I'm posting this based on what I thought about the products!

I'd like to tell you that there are 3 naturally inspiring fragrances  to try: Ginger White Tea (this one has grown on me, I wasn't sure what to think about it at first, but the more that I used it I loved it!), Lemon Thyme, and last but not least Lime Basil!!! I wish that I had coupons to give away, but I gave them to friends of mine at work one weekend----they sounded like they were definitely interested in buying the Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish liquid!

The question of the day is... do I recommend it, being the Fresh Infusions dish liquids as a whole? Yes, and definitely a highly recommend from me! They are available at WalMart!

I'm not MIA at the moment!

Seriously, I'm not missing in action! :O) Steven ended up with the Influenza A this week, after finding out at a trip to the local urgent care. He started in with a sore throat Wednesday evening and a fever of 100.5 before I went to work that night. I came home to him running a fever of at least 101.5.  His pediatrician was full with appointments Thursday, so off to urgent care we went. The D.O. kept on showing me the test that they had run on him about the flu, and I was about to tell him, yes sir, I do know what a positive flu sign looks like. Honestly, the card that they test on looks quite similar to a stool sample card or something of that nature, except for that there's lines on it for Influenza A and B. All I could think about was getting him home and heading off to pick up the Tamiflu that he had prescribed.  Even a teen can turn into a wee one when he or she is sick, and trust me, I had to take care of him that day. I called in sick to take care of him. I had to push fluids to get him to get the fevers down, and they did get up to almost 103.  I kept an eye on the clock, making sure that he got his acetaminophen or ibuprofen when he could get it, and got the store brand of Mucinex in him, too. He's been a bit queasy with the flu, too, so ginger ale's been his drink of choice.

Steven missed a History test, but he's not too worried about it, since he can make it up next week. He goes back to school on Tuesday, thank heavens for Presidents' Day being a school day off. He spent most of the past two days laying around, but today was spent on the computer doing some FCAT prep.
I plan to do some more posting this weekend, but most of the time will be spent getting the boy feeling better and getting some quality time in with hubby!

20 Mule Team Borax (Review and Giveaway)

I am quite familiar with  20 Mule Team Borax! Let's just say that I've used it since 1989 or 1990, which is quite a long time, in my book! If you haven't heard of 20 Mule Team Borax, well, I do have some information for you about it!!

What is Borax? 20 Mule Team Borax is 100% natural mineral from the earth. Once removed from the ground it is washed, dried, and boxed for consumers. Borax is the common name for sodium tetra- borate: a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.
Absolutely nothing is added. No phosphates, chlorine, or other additive chemicals.

What is hard water? Over 85% of homes have what most people call "hard water". Hard Water is defined as water that contains calcium and magnesium (ions).

How does hard water affect laundry? When you add detergent to hard water, some of the compounds attach to calcium and magnesium granules that settle on the bottom of your washing machine, eventually retreating down the drain without actually cleaning your clothes. What a waste of detergent!

20 Mule Team Borax naturally softens hard water: it naturally softens hard water, which protects your detergent-- so it can maximize cleaning power.

Cleaner clothes than detergent alone! To boost your detergent, simply add 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax to every load, along with your regular (Purex, of course!) detergent:
You will find that it: Naturally softens hard water and improves detergent's cleaning power. It helps keep stains from being re-deposited back onto clothes. And Yes, it can be used in HE washers!

I find that when I use it my clothes feel and smell cleaner! I have also used it with warm water in a bucket and mopped my floor in the past. I have also used it to clean bathtubs and sinks, and believe it or not dirty hamsters cages (the cage cleaning was in the '90's!). They have quite a few tips on using Borax on the back on the box! Try them out!  I'm back to using it again in my laundry to maximize my washing machine's cleaning power!! Another highly recommended product by Barb!
