Junkculture: Alice Bartlett : The World at Your Fingertips--- I wanted to share this with you all!

Junkculture: Alice Bartlett : The World at Your Fingertips: Alice Bartlett explores the concept of scale and illusion by using her fingernails to stage and photograph miniature scenes. Alice came up...

I follow the blog Colossal and the above mentioned blog Junkculture, and I have seen so many neat and awesome things posted on their blogs. I just wanted to share the link with you all since I know that  I have a few nail blogs following me, and thought that they would want to see it. Plus, for others, it will expand their horizons on seeing something new!!

Photo-A-Day July 31st "Toothbrush"

I took 2 pictures of my toothbrush, one was with the regular camera part of my iPhone 4S, and the 2nd photo was with the Lego Photo app. Sorry for the shadow of my hand on the first picture!

Photo-A-Day July 30th "Calm"

I'm using a picture that we took a few years ago of Steven sleeping. To me, that's CALM!!

Photo-A-Day July 29th "Last Thing You Bought"

The last thing that I bought was the 2nd season of The Middle dvd set at Walmart my last weekend off!  This post is a little late, due to our iPhoto having issues! I couldn't load any pics and I couldn't access any that I had already loaded!

Photo-A-Day July 28th "Cup"

"Cup" is today's theme, and I sometimes call my mug a cup. I also call a glass a cup, so I'm including two pictures in this post today! The top picture is of a plastic cup that I got with a drink at the Rose and Crown Pub in the UK pavilion area at Epcot last year. I use it for juice, milk, tea, and water! The second picture is of a cup or mug from a friend of ours in the Disney community from Canada! It's one of my favorites!

Photo-A-Day July 27th "On the road"

Friday's theme was "on the road". Since Steven and I had a few places and things to do on my day off, I had him take the picture as I was driving down the interstate with my iPhone. It was such a nice and hot, sunny day! We went to see The Dark Knight Rises with my Dad later in the afternoon (great movie, but so violent!). Dad joined Steve, Steven, and me for dinner at a Ruby Tuesday. It was a long, but good day! I watched the opening of the Olympics with Steven, and fell asleep during it on the sofa!

Photo-A-Day July 26th "Sunshine"

This was an awkward picture! I should have taken one when I got home from work this morning, but I didn't! I wanted to get in the house and drop my stuff off, then wake up THE BOY. He said that he wanted to take the picture for me with my iPad last night, but he changed his mind this morning after he woke up. I ended up going outside around 11am, to help him with the mailbox, since he was having issues with the key for large parcels. I took 3 pictures with my iPhone, and this is the best one of the 3.

Brew Over Ice K-Cups BzzAgent Report

I met the Cool Side of k-cups recently, well, actually I revisited them! When we first got a Keurig brewer for Mother's Day in my household 2 years ago, I tried some iced Peach tea over ice back then. But, it wasn't my favorite. Now, fast forward to late last month and early this month, I was given the opportunity to try k-cups from GreenMountain Coffee in the flavors of Nantucket Blend and Hazelnut. The iced tea k-cup flavors that were in the set for me to try were Southern Sweet  and Half and Half.
I'm going to admit from the start that I usually drink my coffees and my teas, unsweetened and without milk or creamer, so totally unlike my husband! (One of my sisters, Karen from DE, was shocked to hear that I drink it plain!!! She says that I drink it like my Dad!)   I forgot to mention, you can use any 16 oz cooler tumbler (** make sure that it take hot or cold drinks in it!!** ----this is my added information for you!). DO NOT USE GLASS!

I love having the hazelnut coffee when I wake up in the morning, no matter how early!!  Steven went for the Half and Half tea drink this morning! I know what he would give a thumbs up!  I can't believe that they are made of 9 expertly blended coffee and tea choices. I enjoying the taste of the coffees and the teas  that I brewed from it during my review, but my ultimate favorite was the Hazelnut!! Even though I didn't add anything to mine, definitely doesn't mean that you can't be creative and mix add-ins like, cream, milk, or sweetener!! They are going to be staple items in the kitchen, once I get to purchase some more from the store on one of my shopping trips!!

Here's some fact for you:
* Specially blended to brew directly over ice using the 6 oz or 8 oz. setting on any Keurig K-Cup brewer.
* Available in nine expertly blended iced coffee and iced tea flavors.
* Green Mountain Coffee varieties include Nantucket Blend, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut.
* Celestial Seasonings Perfect Iced Tea varieties include Southern Sweet, Half and Half, Sweet Raspberry, Sweet Lemon, Sweet Peach, and Unsweetened Black, Personalized the iced coffees any way you want, and enjoy the already-sweetened iced teas on their own.
* You can buy online at,, and in select mass, grocery, and specialty retail stores, such as Traget, Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Bed Bath And Beyond.

There are some ways that you can connect with, by checking out their site and finding out a bit more about the varieties and even get a coupon for $2 off. Click on the Tumbler Nation app tab on Facebook.  I'm definitely recommending that you try the teas and coffees in the Brew Over Ice k-cups!!

Disclosure: I'm a BzzAgent, and I was given free samples of the products from Green Mountain Via BzzAgent in order to facilitate my review! The Opinions expressed were my own and my family's! Honesty is the best policy!

Photo-A-Day July 25th "Heart"

I couldn't find the tole heart shape that my mother-in-law painted a few years ago, so I decided to take a picture of the heart on our Queen of Hearts vinylmation.

My Influenster MOM VoxBox 2012

I was blessed to receive a Mom VoxBox from Influenster in June! I received a box filled with fun products to test, evaluate and recommend to you all! I'll be going through each of the products in this post, and let you know what I think about them.

One of the first products that I happened to try was the Quaker Soft Baked Cookies. They are sold for about $2.69 for a box of 6. The Quaker soft baked oatmeal cookie was soft and had just the right amount of spice to it. I took it into work one night for a snack, since my husband and son aren's big on oatmeal cookies. Would I buy it at the store out of my own pocket? You bet! I really liked it, and I seriously recommend them!

Steve and I were at home one evening while Steven was gone (either the Mission trip or vacation with the aunt and uncle!), and we tried the DenTek Comfort Clean & Fun Flossers. They cost between $1.99 to 2.99 for full packs.  I haven't seen Steve get excited about dental flossers before, but wow, when he finished using one of them , he said, "I definitely want to buy these!" He bought a full bag of them on the next supermarket run that week! I will agree with him, that they were comfortable and easy to use. Steven hasn't tried them yet, but I know that he'll agree with Steve and me!  We also received some fun flossers for little ones, but don't have any wee ones in the house! Another recommendation from us!

Ivory Bar Soap: This is a soap that we had in my parents' house growing up, but we primarily used it for hand washing at the bathroom and kitchen sinks back then. I can admit that I hadn't used it for a few years until I got to test and evaluate the bar that I received. Ivory Bar Soap is about $4.27 for a 10-pack of bath size bars. It's the 99.44% pure ingredients that got to me and the fresh smell. You can use it in so many ways, a face wash, as laundry soap (chipping soap flakes into the washer, and hand washing soap for delicate clothing. I chose to use it in the shower, and it left my skin smelling clean. I'm the only one that used it in the family. I liked it, and would recommend it, too.

The Stash Tea Superfruits Tea Sampler ($3.50) and Nektar Sweetner:  One morning I got up early a few weeks ago, and didn't want any coffee, so I decided to try the Blueberry tea. I brewed it in the microwave, and when It was through brewing, I took out the teabag and added in a packet of the Nektar sweetener. Stirred, and then added ice! I tend to be an iced tea girl! Oh, it was delicious!!  I have since cold-brewed two bags of the Pomegranate Raspberry and one bag of the Acai Berry together. That combination was delicious cold, without any sweetener! My sister Laura got me into Stash Tea whenever I'd get over to her house in Orlando, but it had been awhile since I had Stash's teas!
The sampler included Mangosteen, Goji Berry, Pomegranate Raspberry, Acai Berry, Yumberry Blackcurrant, and Blueberry. The Nektar Naturals Honey Crystals to use as a natural sweetener were included with my samples. Definitely another recommendation for you all to try!!!

I also received the imPRESS Press-On Manicure By Broadway Nails (from  $5.99 to $7.99).  Mine came in the "Glisten Up" color. They are available in 36 patterns and styles! With the Press-ons, you can get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds---just peel off, press on, and you are done! They can last up to a week. This is the only thing that I haven't had a chance to do yet! I'm aiming to be wearing them next week, when I requested some time off from work.  I like the way that they look, and I would recommend them, based on what they look like and the ease of application!

Disclosure: I was given products for my review from Influenster from companies, in exchange for my honest review. The opinions expressed were my own!

Photo-A-Day July 24th "A Stranger"

This picture is from possibly 2006 or earlier. There are "strangers" in the background behind Steven and me. This picture was taken at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, one of our son's favorite places to go at that time in his life! He still likes to go there, but not as much as he used to!

Photo-A- Day July 23rd "Mirror"

July 2rd's theme of the day with Photo-a-day is "Mirror". My picture is of the IKEA circular mirror that is in our hall bathroom.  I love the blend of blue and green in it!

Photo-A-Day July 22nd "Upside Down"

July 22nd was a busy day for us, with picking up Steven from OIA! We all were beat, and my husband ran down to Melbourne to go to the clinic associated with our doctor's group. Steve ended up getting diagnosed with a sinus infection, and was prescribed an antibiotic. We had a really early dinner, and everyone (including the birds!) was in bed with the lights out by no later than 7:30pm. I'm never in bed that early on a Sunday night off!!! I've got "Falling Skies" and The Great Escape" to watch!

This picture is of an upside down bird on a wooden block! Another one of the bird toys!

Photo-A-Day July 21st "9 O'Clock"

Today's theme was to take a picture of whatever you're doing at 9am or 9pm. At 9am, I was watching last night's "Dateline NBC" from the dvr, and I fell asleep doing so! A view from where I was dozing!
I'm still in shock that James Holmes killed and injured all of those people in Aurora, CO. Praying for healing for the families and the community.

Photo-A-Day July 20th "Eyes"

I couldn't get a clear picture of any of my birds' eyes, so I opted for a picture of my eyes without my glasses on! Hazel! Using my iPhone to take pictures makes me look cross-eyed! Ha!

Photo-A-Day July 19th "Animal/Insect/Pet"

I think that you all will know which item I chose for my photo today! Pet!!! I can't say too much at the moment about this picture!

Photo-A-Day July 18th "Plate"

Today's really cool theme was "Plate"! I decided to get out one of my Normadie "Bouquet and Lattice" plates out and photograph it. There's not just one picture, but a few, due to the design and color that I wanted to show you.  I used to collect depression glass before Steven was born, when Steve and I would go on trips up to NC, WV, and VA. We'd stop by antique malls and stores, and I'd either end up buying some Normadie or some milkstone.

Photo-A-Day July 17th "Addiction"

Goodness! This was a hard one! I could say that I actually have two main addictions! One is of Vera Bradley Blue Lagoon gear. I did not have any Vera Bradley items till after I saw both of my sisters, Karen and Laura, and Karen's daughters with Vera Bradley purses/ backpacks. I did a search online, and signed up for Vera Bradley's e-mails. Now, I've got 3 or 4 purses and some tech carrying stuff!

The 2nd addiction is for something that I don't blog about, I love nail polish!  I love glittery, flaky, and holos, and some cremes!  Definitely an OPI and Zoya gal, though I do own some Orly and China Glaze.  I don't get to polish my nails often, due to my line of work, nursing! When I do, it seems like it chips!  One thing about me is that I've never had a professional mani or pedi. And by the way, that is only the bottom of the train case with the nail polishes! There are more in the side shelves, some tiny bottles.

Photo-A-Day July 16th "Sign"

Okay, so I didn't see any really cool signs while I was out in the car driving yesterday (and that's not safe, especially when it's raining! None exciting enough to stop and pull over to take a pic of!). Here's the sign to Flights of Wonder over at Animal Kingdom. It's one of my family's favorite shows!
Gee, I wonder why!

Photo-A-Day July 15th "Finger"

It's hard to take a picture of just one finger, and you don't want to take a picture of the wrong one! Sunday the 15th's theme was "finger".  Yesterday while I was at a traffic light heading to take my CPR (BCLS), I decided to snap a picture of my fingers on my left hand. Don't look to close, I haven't taken care of my cuticles recently!

Photo-A-Day July 14th "Building"

This was a hard one, I'm borrowing a picture out of my iPhotos for today. I'm still achy! I ran out this morning to get my hair done, and I'm already sore sitting again! IF you're a Disney fanatic or have been to WDW, you will know where the picture was taken! It is a "building"!!
Hugs to you all! Hope that you're having an awesome weekend! Now, back to relaxing on the sofa and let my pain med kick in!

Post procedure

I'm posting this briefly, just to let you all know that I'm home resting this afternoon, curled up with the iPad and iPhone on the sofa, as soon as I post this at the Mac at the computer desk here in the family room. I had a biopsy and a hysteroscopy of my uterus---yeah, I know---TMI---this afternoon. Have today and tomorrow off to recuperate before going back to work on Sunday night. A bit uncomfortable to sit up at the moment, cramping big time. The dvr and movies and Netflix will be my buddies along with hubby and the birds tonight and tomorrow!

Photo-A-Day July 13th "Open"

Theme for today is "OPEN"! Okay, I've decided to post two pictures of "Open"! The first one is a view through our sliding glass doors to our screened-in patio. The vertical blinds were "open"! Our backyard is up against one of the conservation areas in our neighborhood, if I remember correctly!
The 2nd picture is of one of my IKEA storage containers for my craft supplies, and it is "open"! Some of my beading stuff that I need to make something with one of these days! I'm into anklets and bracelets!

Have you seen the new AT&T commercials?

The new "Don't Text & Drive" commercials are really sad! I've been catching them in between shows from the dvr lately. I'm hoping that teens are watching them and learning something. Son will be driving in about 3 years, give or take. I stop and pull over if I have something that requires an answer, or it waits till I'm in a long line at a traffic light!

Disclosure: no sponsor, just an opinion from me!!!

Photo-A-Day July 12th "Texture"

Texture---hrrrmmm! I looked around the house for something, and stumbled upon a lap afghan on the sofa. I bought it from a neighbor friend of my parents' years ago when Steve and I got married, and it also came with a pillow. Yes, I washed both of them well, and we still use them to this day----23+ years later! Steven usually wraps himself up in the afghan when he's watching tv on the sofa. Not incredibly soft, but it is comfortable! Man, I miss the boy! He did call me this morning!

My Friend Connie's Pineapple

My friend and co-worker Connie were talking last Saturday morning about the garden pic I needed to take for the photo-a-day. She had a pineapple plant that she wanted to send me a picture of but wasn't sure how to send it to me. We went out to breakfast after work this morning, and I showed her how to send a picture in a text message. Below is the pineapple picture that she wanted to send me, and I'm glad to share it with you all!

Photo-A-Day July 11th "Letter"

I liked this one today! I used one of the blocks from our bird toys for the "Letter"!
