Terry, the young boy in the book, got his nickname Terry Treetop, from climbing up trees! He had decided to use his binoculars while up in the treetop while on summer vacation with his parents at a marine nature preserve. While he was looking around he saw a group of dolphins playing around in the water. He climbed down to get their attention, and happened to get the attention of the little dolphin in the group. Terry named him Dido. The little dolphin came closer to Terry and ended up getting caught up in a net that had been left in the water by a fisherman. Terry Treetop looked around with his binoculars and saw a ranger. He got the ranger's attention, and the ranger was able to rescue the little dolphin. Roger, the marine nature preserve ranger, asked Terry Treetop if he wanted to play with the dolphins. The young boy reminded him of how he was when he was younger! They played with the dolphins, and Roger asked Terry if he'd be his helper for the week! Of course, he did!
It was a great book, and if I had a young child or a grandchild, I would definitely read it to them. I do recommend it!
